A site called an affair with urban policy (zachary korb) looks very interesting. It is by far the closest I've seen to what I've tried to achieve with my own combination of weblog and business sites.
It deals with the city but not just as an aesthetic experience. It covers all aspects of urban policy - everything in fact that makes a place worth living in. It is US based but still well worth a look by UK practitioners.
