However difficult we might find it in this country living on a low income there are hundreds of millions of people much, much worse off. A UK salary of £12,000 pa - generally reckoned to be pretty low - puts you in the top 11% (approximately) of income on this planet. Even a salary of £2,000 pa puts you in the top 15%.
