Disaster Relief or Military Occupation?

More Pain for Devastated Haiti:

In a telling account, the New York Times described a press conference in Haiti at which "the American ambassador and the American general in charge of the United States troops deployed here" were "seated at center stage", while Haitian President Rene Preval stood in the back "half-listening" and eventually "wandered away without a word."

It is interesting to compare the US response to that of British Army when soldiers erected a bridge in the Lakes after the old one was washed away by floods - not a weapon in site.
