Jeremy Clarkson - front man for UN bid for world domination?

I strongly suspect that certain powers-that-be encourage [Jeremy] Clarkson to be as ridiculous as possible on Top Gear ('shoot the cyclists' etc), to reduce his credibility on the occasions that he talks sense.
