I deleted the Samizdata blog from my blog roll ages ago, but I still dropped in from time to time via my RSS feed. I'm now deleting it from the feed list too.
It is impossible to take an active part in any discussion because all my posts are automatically held for review after having had the temerity to disagree with blog editor Perry de Havilland. He is prone to irrational outbursts in any event but it has now got to the point where any comment I post that is even mildly critical tends not to appear at all, so I've given up trying. No doubt that is the point.
I've noticed over the years that people who are sympathetic, but critical tended to stop posting after a while and assumed they had simply gone elsewhere. I now suspect from my own experience they have been either actively blocked or simply driven away by filtering out enough of their comments to make their contribution look nonsensical.
They make much play of being "a varied group made up of social individualists, classical liberals, whigs, libertarians, extropians, futurists, 'Porcupines', Karl Popper fetishists, recovering neo-conservatives, crazed Ayn Rand worshipers, over-caffeinated Virginia Postrel devotees, witty Frédéric Bastiat wannabes, cypherpunks, minarchists, kritarchists and wild-eyed anarcho-capitalists from Britain, North America, Australia and Europe." Their practice is very different.
